Description

If you drive from San Francisco to Sonoma past Sears Point, you’re on Hwy116. This is the Carneros AVA. It is close to the bay and usually cold and windy. You’ll pass Santo Giordano Vineyard along the first stretch. This place is protected by some hills to the west, blocking the wind for a short stretch. It gives the Sangiovese more warmth to produce full fruit flavors. Sangiovese will remind you of strawberries. The other grapes in the blend add depth, pie spice, and finish. If the meal is Italian, Sangiovese is perfect.
